The vacancy
As the Quality & Teaching, Learning & Assessment Lead, you will play a key strategic role within the Academy, collaborating with colleagues to achieve our vision and objectives . You will oversee our quality assurance framework, ensure compliance with regulatory and awarding body requirements, and lead on quality improvement initiatives. By managing and supporting a team of Skills Trainers, Functional Skills teachers, and other educational staff, you will foster a culture of high expectations and professional growth, ensuring outstanding outcomes for learners.
You will take ownership of the Academy's quality assurance cycle, conducting lesson observations, providing constructive feedback, and delivering professional development activities for skills trainers to ensure they strive for excellence in teaching, learning and assessment. Your work will include producing high-quality reports, such as the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), while representing the Academy in external forums to stay informed about sector developments.
You'll need to be in the office for 2 days per week and the remaining time you'll be able to work remotely.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring learners receive an engaging, inclusive, and supportive educational experience. You will analyse feedback and data to drive targeted improvements, support learner engagement initiatives, and maintain compliance with assessment and examination policies.

Could it be you? To be successful in this role, you'll have :
- Extensive experience in quality assurance within education, including preparing teams for Ofsted inspections and working with the Education Inspection Framework.
- A full teaching qualification, at least a Level 2 qualification in maths and English, and a degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, Prevent, and equal opportunities is required, as is the ability to handle pressure, work to deadlines, and maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR requirements.
- Experience of mentoring/coaching others to support classroom improvement & innovation, delivering high quality CPD to support.
- Experience of leading and managing an observation process to improve the quality of TLA delivery.
