Foxfield school are looking to recruit a school business manager.
The School Business Manager (SBM) is a key leadership role at Foxfield Special School, working directly with the Headteacher and serving as a vital member of the School¿s Leadership Team. This position demands a visionary, strategic thinker who can champion excellence in business operations, ensuring the effective management of resources to achieve the schools educational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Leadership Team Member: Actively contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with the school¿s objectives.
Vision and Direction: Shape and promote the highest standards of business ethos across the schools administrative and operational functions.
Collaboration: Foster partnerships with external schools and organizations to develop collaborative opportunities, sharing best practices and resources.
Financial Management:
Adviser: Serve as a professional and financial adviser to the Headteacher and Governing Body.
Budget Oversight: Prepare financial forecasts, monitor budgets, and ensure financial rules are strictly adhered to by all staff.
Resource Optimization: Strategically ensure that financial resources are utilized effectively to support the schools learning objectives.
Operational Oversight:
Non-Curriculum Strategy: Lead non-curricular operations to enhance the school¿s efficiency and effectiveness.
Health and Safety: Oversee and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding all staff and students.
Human Resources: Manage HR functions, ensuring robust systems for recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
Staff Management:
Line Management: Provide professional leadership and direct line management to administration staff across both schools.
Performance Development: Implement appraisal systems, offer mentoring and training opportunities, and drive staff development.
Collaboration: Partner with team leaders, including the Premises Manager, to ensure cohesive and efficient site management.
Governance and Compliance:
Governance Support: Provide detailed reports and guidance to the Governing Body, ensuring informed decision-making.
Policy Enforcement: Develop and enforce policies to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and school priorities.
Essential Attributes
A proven track record in financial and operational management.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of managing diverse teams and fostering collaboration.
Strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges proactively.
In-depth knowledge of education sector regulations, including finance, HR, and health and safety.
