Professor Brian Cox CBE is our Patron. </strong>   </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our exceptional links with QMUL, King’s College London, The University of Warwick, The UCL Institute of Education and the University of East London help shape an inspirational and challenging Humanities curriculum. All students study RE at GCSE, and Geography and History are popular subjects at KS4. Uptake for these subjects is also strong at KS5.   </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Working within a supportive and collaborative faculty, you will be an outstanding practitioner with a firm commitment to the progress of all students in our heavily oversubscribed school. The successful candidate will be passionate about shaping a rich curriculum across the Humanities. They will have an unwavering belief in the potential of every student. They will do what it takes to ensure that students achieve their best, and will have the contagious enthusiasm for Humanities, which excites and motivates students and staff. They will work alongside Subject Leaders in Geography, History and RE, to lead colleagues to make an impact on student progress and develop a rich curriculum and wider opportunities.   </p>\n<p><br>We have high expectations of all students to be taught the best powerful knowledge as defined by the subject community. We believe all teaching should be evidence informed so teachers can focus on high impact methods in their practice with sensible implications on workload. Planning of lessons are based on principles derived from cognitive science and distributed through the department to drive collaboration.  The department delivers CPD fortnightly that focuses on improving our subject and pedagogical knowledge. The Head of Faculty plays a critical role in the strategic direction of the design and implementation of our curriculum.   </p>\n<p><br>The culture of SPWT aims to support new and experienced middle leaders to thrive and continuously develop, within both their teaching and leadership.
