Digital Infrastructure Manager
About the Role:
Wirral Council is undergoing a digital transformation, and we're seeking a passionate Digital Infrastructure Manager to join our dynamic Digital, Data, and Technology (DDaT) service. You'll play a pivotal role in managing the Platform and Network teams, overseeing the exciting migration from on-premises infrastructure to a modern cloud environment.
You will be responsible for:
Leading the Design and Implementation: You'll be at the forefront, architecting and implementing a robust and scalable infrastructure solution within the cloud. Drive Operational Excellence: You'll ensure a highly reliable IT infrastructure, freeing up staff to deliver excellent service experiences. Enhancing Security, Scalability and Efficiency: Developing and implementing strategies to optimize our infrastructure for security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
About the candidate:
We're looking for a highly motivated individual with a good understanding of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure. You'll possess a strong technical background in areas like: Network and Server Management: Expertise in WAN & LAN technologies, including 802.1x. Cloud Infrastructure: A solid understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure). Leadership: The ability to motivate and lead high-performing teams is crucial.
