Job introduction
We are looking for a part time Social Work Resource Officer to work in our new Short Breaks Team in the Specialist Community Disability Service 0 - 24. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our new Short Breaks Team. The work will be with children and young people who have a diagnosed disability and their families. Your role will be to complete initial and review assessments for children with disabilities who require a package of support (Short Break) to ensure that the support that they receive meets their needs.
This is a permanent position for 22.5 hours per week.

About the role
You will work alongside and be supported by two social work pods and the managers who support children and young people with complex disabilities.
Applicants must have previous experience of working with disabled young people and their families, and other professionals involved in their lives.
Excellent record writing and IT skills are vital, along with an ability to deal sensitively with difficult or unexpected situations as they arise.
Applicants must be able to work independently, and as part of team, have an understanding of anti-racist practice and be aware of safe working practices.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining.
