Origin – Great homes, positive people and strong communities

An inspiring past and a bright future

A home is the essential foundation for a good quality of life, so what we do every day really matters to the wellbeing of our communities. Here at Origin, we trace our roots back almost 100 years, building and managing high quality homes as well as providing support services and housing for those who are most vulnerable in London and Hertfordshire. We work to provide safe, decent affordable homes and support for individuals and communities.

Focused on our residents, our driving ambition is to provide services that make people’s lives easier, and homes and communities they can be proud to live in. We are ‘not for profit’ and reinvest all our surpluses back into our varied and vibrant neighbourhoods.

The role – Youth Support Worker

  • Maintain the health and safety of the building- arranging for repairs to communal areas and related fixtures & fittings, keeping bin areas, entrances, corridors, and the office tidy, controlling security to the building. Carrying out essential fire safety checks and fire alarm testing on a rota basis.
  • Support young people to deal with anti-social behaviour, incidents, and neighbour disputes.

What you’ll need

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A motivational approach
  • Collaboration is highly important; you’ll need to demonstrate your experience of working effectively within a team.
  • We work closely with the Camden Pathway Team and external services; you’ll need experience of successful partnership working and communication.
  • You will need good understanding of safeguarding young people, risk assessment and management of incidents.
  • We move things forward and get things done; you’ll need experience of using your initiative and managing challenging situations and behaviour.
  • You’ll need to be a confident communicator across all channels but, specifically, you’ll need experience of maintaining up to date written records, support plans and risk assessments.

  • 2 additional ‘giving something back’ volunteer days
