Our emerging Local Plan is ambitious and focussed on meeting the challenge of climate change.</p>\n<p>The roles of Senior Planning Officer, Planning Officer and Planning Support Officer and are ideal opportunities to embark on or broaden a career in planning.</p>\n<p>The role of Planning Support Officer is for 18.5 hours a week and is a great opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the built and rural environments to start their career in planning. You will work in a supportive role as part of a wider team whilst developing a range of technical and administrational skills and the position is ideal if you are looking to take a first step on the ladder to becoming a planning officer. You will work closely with Senior and Principal Planning officers to assist them and the team in all aspects of planning work. We are also looking for someone who will be able to deal with a wide range of enquiries from members of the public, agents and applicants, parish councils and third parties.</p>\n<p>You will have some office experience, perhaps in a Council or in planning, and have a keen interest in helping us to protect and improve our environment whilst delivering what matters to the customer.
