About the Role
Do you love working in the outdoors? Then this is the job is for you. We are now recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to carry out grass cutting, shrub pruning, hedge maintenance, flowerbed and floral display maintenance and various other grounds maintenance duties on varied sites including parks, countryside, playgrounds and cemeteries in the borough.
Other duties include:
- Fixing and maintaining park furniture, fending and goal posts.
- General cleansing work.
- Manual sweeping.
- Carry out daily safety checks of the vehicle, equipment and machinery.
- Always Promote an efficient and effective image of Neighbourhood Services and the Council.
About the Person
- A full driving license is essential for the position.
- Previous experience of working outdoors in all weathers.
- Knowledge of basic health and safety.
- Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance techniques and equipment operation.
- Good communication skills.
- Understand the importance of good customer service.
- Able to work well both individually and in a team.
