If you wish to join an enjoyable yet challenging working environment that forms part of an organisation committed to making a real difference for the community that we serve, then we want to hear from you.
At Wyre, we take pride in the maintenance of our outdoor spaces, receiving an incredible five green flags in 2024 for our parks across Wyre and we aim to improve this number in 2025.
To help us achieve this, we are looking to recruit Seasonal Gardeners for the 2025 season with the necessary skills, dedication and pride in their work. You’ll join the Council’s Grounds Maintenance team to work throughout Wyre Borough including our cemeteries, gaining valuable skills and experience in grounds maintenance working alongside experienced colleagues that have delivered our year-on-year green flag success.
What you’ll need
- Knowledge and ability to use a range of grounds maintenance equipment.
- To demonstrate regular and reliable attendance with a flexible team working approach.
- To be sufficiently physically mobile to undertake the duties of a Seasonal Gardener.
- A current full driving licence would be advantageous.
What you’ll get in return
- Hands on experience working with teams that have award winning standards.
- Training and development opportunities covering a range of grounds maintenance equipment and methodologies.
- A competitive rate of pay including additional benefits such as employer pension contributions, 24 days annual leave including bank holidays and a work environment that will help you develop and grow.
These posts are temporary for 6 months with the option to extend.
We will be holding a recruitment drop-in session at the Wyre Council Copse Road Depot on 6 February from 1.00pm for anyone that wants to come along and discuss the positions or needs help with their application. No appointment necessary, simply turn up on the day from 1.00pm.
