Are you a passionate, dedicated teacher looking to make a real impact in a specialist setting? At Danecourt School, we’re offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled SEND Teacher to join our incredible team and help transform the lives of children with complex needs.
About the Role
As a SEND teacher at Danecourt, you’ll lead a small class of pupils with a range of needs including autism, communication difficulties, and sensory processing disorders. You’ll have the opportunity to make a life-changing impact every single day by:
Delivering Personalised Learning:
Design and implement creative, individualised learning experiences that help every child reach their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Collaborating with Support Staff:
Work closely with a skilled team of teaching assistants, therapists, and professionals to provide holistic support for every child.
Engaging Families:
Build strong relationships with families and carers, offering insight, encouragement, and practical strategies to support their children beyond the classroom.
Celebrating Progress Every Day:
Recognise and champion the small steps that lead to big breakthroughs—whether that’s a first word, a new friendship, or a moment of confidence.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and compassionate SEND Teacher who is:
Experienced and Qualified:
You hold QTS and have a strong understanding of the needs of pupils with SEND, ideally with experience in a specialist or mainstream SEN setting.
Creative and Flexible:
You adapt quickly, bring energy and new ideas to the classroom, and approach each day with a solution-focused mindset.
A Strong Communicator:
You build positive, professional relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Patient and Passionate:
You bring empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping every child grow and succeed in their own way.
Why Danecourt?
At Danecourt, teaching is more than a job — it’s a chance to be part of something extraordinary. You’ll join a passionate team in a nurturing, specialist setting where every small step a child takes is celebrated. With small class sizes, a strong team ethos, and the freedom to tailor your teaching, Danecourt gives you the time, tools, and support to do what you do best: change lives through education.
A Role With Real Purpose:
You won’t just be teaching — you’ll be unlocking potential. Every day brings moments of progress and joy, as our children achieve things they never thought possible.
Supportive, Collaborative Culture:
You’ll work alongside an exceptional team who truly care — about our pupils, about each other, and about doing things the right way.
Ongoing Professional Development:
We’re serious about supporting your growth. From SEND-specific CPD to leadership pathways, we invest in your development at every stage of your career.
Part of Maritime Academy Trust:
As a member of a forward-thinking and inclusive Trust, you’ll benefit from shared expertise, innovation, and opportunities to connect with others across our family of schools.
Excellent Benefits:
We offer a generous pension, employee wellbeing support, early access to pay through Wagestream, and family-friendly policies to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance.
