Pendle Borough Council’s Legal Section deals with a large caseload of conveyancing and contracts work arising from its strategic objectives to achieve strong services, a strong economy, strong communities and a strong organisation within the Borough.
To help it achieve this aim, the Council is looking for a Solicitor or Legal Executive to fill this post within Legal Services. You will deal with a caseload of complex conveyancing work, often working against tight deadlines, and will assist the Legal Services Manager in the day-to-day management of the Section. You will also supervise the Senior Legal Assistant and the Legal Assistant in carrying out conveyancing work.
In addition to a thorough knowledge of conveyancing, you will need to demonstrate achievement in providing business support for a legal or similar practice, have a sound knowledge of management practices and experience of implementing them.

This role is likely to be on a Flexible Contract as defined by our Agile Working Policy. The minimum frequency for in-office attendance will be two or three times per week, however it could be more frequent based on the demands of the service. We therefore expect candidates to reside within a commutable distance from Nelson, Lancashire.
