Data Protection Officer

About the role

- Ensuring compliance with UK General Data Practitioners Regulation (UK GDPR), Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Data Protection Act (DPA) and the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) providing expert advice, promoting data protection compliance and best practice in setting and maintaining standards and procedures across the organisation.
- Managing all aspects of the subject access process and responding to challenges including correspondence from the Information Commissioners Office.
- Supporting service managers in creating data sharing agreements, undertaking data protection impact assessments across all business areas.
- Managing communication from the LGO on complaints, supporting services areas to respond in a timely way and ensuring that they are providing all requested information in a timely way.
Who we’re looking for
- Previous experience working within an information governance team/data privacy environment.
- Organised, Personable and kind – you will be willing to adopt the ambitions of Tandridge.
- A reflective and enthusiastic individual who will consider their personal contribution in serving our residents.
- Making decisions and working knowledge of the following legislation UK GDPR, FOIA, EIR and DPA.
- Knowledge of Sharepoint/Salesforce or other case management systems.
- Excellent communication skills and influencing vital decisions on disclosure.
- Produce high quality, concise and accurate documents to maintain the council reputation and mitigate risk to the council.
