Guildford Borough Council are looking for the right candidate to fill the role of Facilities Support Officer. This newly created role will comprehensive Health & Safety and administrative support to the Facilities team. This will include maintaining a risk assessment and COSHH database for GBC, and ensuring that it accurately reflects what is found at sites throughout Guildford Borough Council.
The successful candidate will have to perform a number of varying admin tasks to support the Facilities team in delivering a safe and clean environment in which to work and visit.
Attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work proactively alone or as part of a team are essential attributes for this postholder.
Job Profile
The key accountabilities of this role are:
- Access and accurately update all COSHH records held within the database, ensuring that the information we hold accurately reflects the substances held at each site.
- Comply with all Health and safety legislation for your area of work, ensuring that all health and safety risks are identified, managed and monitored as required.
- Support the continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the service using best practice from others where appropriate.
- To promote the use of the COSHH/Risk Assessment database throughout Guildford Borough Council, providing training and support as necessary.
- To evaluate tasks and processes throughout all GBC services and create an appropriate risk assessment (where necessary), ensuring that it is stored accurately in the database.
- To undertake any such task, commensurate with the grading of this post, as requested by the Facilities Team Leader.
