The Human Resources team are responsible for a broad spectrum of HR functions, these include but are not limited to, shaping the organisational structure, managing recruitment and retention strategies, overseeing pay and grading systems, learning training and development programs, promoting wellbeing, equality, handling employment relations, and implementing performance management.
We are looking for a proactive experienced HR Adviser to undertake this newly created role that will support the team in delivering an efficient service for an increasing workforce. It is a varied and busy role, and you will be responsible for providng professional advice and support in all areas of employment relations, such as sickness management, grievances, disciplinaries, and performance management escalating complex cases to the HR Business Partner or Head of HR.
You will have the opportunity to work with the Learning and Development Business Partner and HR Business Partners in coaching and training line managers in performance management processes, including conducting effective appraisals, one to ones, absence management, and guidance on development plans, you will also support the Equality and Diversity Officer to create, promote and sustain inclusive environments and practices.
We do need you to have mastery of the basics, so it’s essential you bring the following:
- A thorough understanding of how to advise, guide and coach on absence management, performance management, disciplinary & grievance, organisational change programmes and recruitment and selection
- Evidence of continuous professional development to demonstrate that you manage the gaps in your experience
- Either CIPD Level 5, or the ability to show that you have an equivalent level of understanding and therefore qualified by experience
You will need to have considerable recent knowledge and experience in, recruitment and selection, employment law and HR best practices, as well as the credibility to build trust for managers, and staff. In addition, a high degree of confidentiality, autonomy and initiative is critical.

Furthermore, you will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy and be able to prioritise your own workload and support the HR Assistants with theirs particularly in being able to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands.
