About Camden
Camden is a borough where everyone can thrive. We’re home to vital conversations and bold social change, ensuring that no one is left behind. Our SEND & Inclusion Service is committed to delivering exceptional support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As a SEND Case Officer, you’ll play a key role in fostering collaboration, improving outcomes, and strengthening relationships with families and schools.
How You’ll Be Involved
This role involves managing the development and maintenance of Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Plans, from initial applications and assessments to annual reviews. You will work directly with families, schools, and other partners to ensure children and young people with SEND receive appropriate, person-centred support. By coordinating services across education, health, and care, you’ll ensure holistic, high-quality delivery for each child and family.
As a SEND Case Officer, you’ll act as a key contact for your caseload, attending planning and review meetings and responding to SEND queries. Your ability to ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and maintain timely, effective communication with all stakeholders will drive success in this role. Data, feedback, and reflective practices will guide your efforts to continually improve service quality.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require a DBS.
All About You
We’re looking for someone with strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice. Experience in drafting and managing EHC plans and collaborating with partners across health, education, and social care is essential. You will need excellent organisational and communication skills to handle sensitive and potentially contentious situations effectively, always ensuring the voice of the child is central to decision-making.
