The Role:
- As a SEND Casework Officer, you will continue Liverpool’s commitment of ensuring that children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) have a positive educational experience, we are looking for a SEND Casework Officer to work in support of pupils with Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans. This will involve carrying out the statutory assessment and EHC plan review process, ensuring children and young people are placed and supported suitably in line with relevant legislation
- In the role of a SEND Casework Officer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of children and young people under assessment for EHC plans and a cohort of children and young people with EHC plans already in place
- Our SEND Casework Officer are the first point of contact for families, providing excellent customer service and demonstrating good interpersonal skills in order to foster and maintain positive and effective working relationships with families and professionals
- As the SEND Casework Officer, you’ll be working in partnership with other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people as well as experience of working as part of a team, including multi-agency teams
- You, the SEND Casework Officer must be able to work under your own initiative on a specified caseload and as a part of a wider team to statutory timescales and deadlines and be expected to use all aspects of IT including Microsoft Office Suite
- You, the SEND Casework Officer will have excellent mediation and negotiation skills with a proven ability to work effectively under pressure in addition to extensive experience of casework, including supporting families and legal challenge
- Our SEND Casework Officer must have working experience and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the Children and Families Act 2014 and all associated legislation including SENDIST regulations is required
