The role
As the current position holder is retiring in the summer Southern Housing is seeking a fire safety professional to join the team as the Head of Fire Safety Delivery.
Are you a strong leader with a passion for promoting a positive safety culture and managing delivery?
Southern Housing is seeking a Head of Fire Safety Delivery to lead critical fire safety programmes across our portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Building Safety you'll be leading the delivery of the fire risk assessment programme to ensure compliance with legislation and the highest safety standards.
Implementing best practices and innovations to enhance contract management efficiency and effectiveness. You will plan, mobilise, and deliver passive fire safety works while ensuring consultation, engagement, quality, compliance, and commercial management processes are meticulously followed.
In addition, you will lead the fire door checking programme and coordinate remedial and replacement works in line with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
You will work to ensure residents have a voice on fire safety decisions that impact them, and that they have opportunities to express their views.

What you'll need
- Excellent knowledge of fire safety legislation, with a relevant professional/qualification in fire safety/fire practice, or equivalent qualification in a related field.
- A track record in managing large building projects particularly high rise block/complex buildings refurbishment.
- Strong commercial/financial track record developed at a senior level within a Contracts Management environment.
- Strategic thinking and decision-making skills to develop and implement complex programmes of assessment and works.
- Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to guide and inspire a team in achieving organisational goals.
