Lead the Future of Housing at Arun District Council – Become Our Asset and Development Manager

This is an exciting time to join Arun District Council as we embark on a new chapter in the management and development of our housing stock. We are looking for an experienced and visionary Asset and Development Manager to lead the way in maintaining and enhancing our housing assets whilst driving forward innovative housing development projects that will shape the future of our district.

You will lead the development and delivery of our asset management strategy, making sure our housing stock is safe, efficient, and continuously improving.

Your work will involve identifying key priorities for investment, regeneration, and new housing development, ensuring that every decision maximises value and enhances the quality of life for residents. You will oversee a programme of acquisitions, new builds, and improvements, working closely with internal teams and external partners, including developers, contractors, registered providers, and community organisations, to create sustainable and affordable housing solutions.

A significant part of this role will be managing our delivery programme, following our successful bid from the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund. You’ll also utilise our stock condition survey data to develop a rolling 5-year investment programme to ensure our homes meet or exceed decency standards.

This is not just about maintenance and compliance; this is about leading transformation. You will champion best practices, drive service improvements, and develop strategic plans that align with our corporate priorities. Your leadership will inspire a culture of excellence, encouraging innovation and collaboration within the team and beyond.

We are looking for a professional with a strong background in asset management, housing development, or property investment, who thrives in making a real difference. You will need excellent project management skills, the ability to manage significant budgets, and a deep understanding of housing legislation and best practices. Above all, you will be passionate about ensuring that our homes provide safe, comfortable, and sustainable environments for our residents.
