Who we are
UCG provides education to over 11,000 learners a year, including 16–18-year-olds, adults, apprentices, and students with high needs.

We have around 1,000 dedicated, skilled and enthusiastic staff who always put the needs of our students first and we are now looking for a Head of Estates to join our cohort of dedicated staff.
About You
We are looking for a strategic and experienced estates professional to step into a key leadership role during a vital period of change. This is an excellent opportunity to influence the future of our learning environments and help shape a modern, efficient, and sustainable estate across our college group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead estates functions including maintenance, security, catering, and housekeeping
- Oversee major capital projects and drive cost efficiency
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory building regulations
- Act as the Client Lead for estates-related and transformation projects
- Support risk management, business continuity, and sustainability initiatives
Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification (essential); relevant estates/facilities qualification (desirable)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in estates/facilities management
- Strong leadership, communication, and budget management skills
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g. Managing Safely)
- Experience managing capital projects and MEP systems
