Our Information Governance Team are looking for a part-time Information Governance and Data Protection Assistant to provide maternity cover.
The role will involve maintaining the FOI register daily together with the DPO; respond to certain requests; liaise with all departments involved and assist in the training of other staff members in the development of data protection law. You will also provide support / assistance to the Councils Data Protection Officer to ensure that matters concerning Information Governance are processed in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with legislation
The right person will need to demonstrate an enthusiastic and systematic approach, have some good knowledge of GDPR & Data Protection Legislation and knowledge of Freedom of Information Act & Environmental Information Regulations procedures
You should be an excellent team worker with good communication skills who is confident and assertive and use to working under pressure.
Applicants should have strong administrative abilities and be able to work accurately in a busy working environment. GCSEs in Maths and English and good written and verbal communication skills are essential together with a working knowledge of the MS Office suite of packages.
