Energy Officer
About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Energy Officer to join our Asset Compliance Team.
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of ongoing corporate energy awareness and good housekeeping programme to improve energy efficiency, whilst investigating and resolving energy billing queries across the school and council portfolio.
To project manage energy/telecommunications disconnections prior to demolitions and project manage new energy connections for new buildings within the corporate/school estate.
You will be responsible for managing the Crown Commercial Services Service Level Agreement to schools whilst investigating long standing overdue balances on energy supply accounts.
Ensuring we have accurate billing across all council assets and delivering Energy Audits and Surveys to all Council-owned sites including compiling individual site reports.
You will develop and lead the Automatic Meter Reading installations across council/school’s estate, liaising with schools, building attendants and managing contractors to improve efficiency and accuracy of billing.

About the candidate:
We would like to hear from you if you have experience within the energy sector, qualified in a suitable energy qualification, such as a junior energy manager qualification and has experience working in energy awareness, ideally a local council and school environment.
Your experience should include working with the energy suppliers e.g. SP Energy and Cadent.
You should have knowledge of systems link or similar, knowledge and understanding of the Wirral Climate Emergency declaration, and you will be Carbon Literate.
Above all, you will be looking to improve Energy awareness across the council.
