Park Worker

We have 3 Full Time vacancies for Park Workers at Halton Borough Council.

Qualified to level 2 in a land based qualification, you will have experience of working in a land based industry and the knowledge to identify the range of common plant species found in British parks.

Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for following work schedules and will have the ability to read and interpret simple maps, plans and drawings.

With demonstrable working knowledge of horticultural and sports turf maintenance best practice, you will possess the skills to use a range of hand and mechanised tools, as well as ride on machines, tractors and other plant.

Our Team:

Environment Services is responsible for a wide range of council functions. We keep the streets clean, provide refuse collection services, and deliver award winning parks and open spaces. We are the custodians of the local environment and are keen to improve the offering across these cherished facilities.

Your Contributions:

Main purpose of the role: Teams carrying out all necessary landscape management and assist the public in their enjoyment of Parks. To carry out a range of operations including Grass cutting with hand, pedestrian controlled and ‘ride on’ machines and specialist equipment; maintenance of fine turf areas and horticultural displays to the appropriate standard; weed control with hand tools and chemical application; trimming hedges and shrubs with hand and powered cutters; digging/forking over and general soil preparation including manuring and mulching.
