You will join a strong and supportive team of staff within an Academy that is committed to providing a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment for our pupils and staff.  Whybridge Junior School is part of Hornchurch Academy Trust which offers excellent opportunities for training, support, career development and sharing best practice amongst its six schools.</p>\n<p>As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be prepared to work in a challenging but enjoyable work environment and will be joining a supportive team committed to inclusion. </p>\n<p>As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the learning of an individual pupil with SEMH needs within the classroom environment. In addition, this role would involve providing additional intervention outside of the classroom under the direction of the class teacher.</p>\n<p>Experience of working with children with SEND and delivering intervention is desirable.</p>\n<p><strong>The successful candidate will: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>be a proactive, positive role model for pupils</li>\n<li>ideally have some experience of working one to one with children</li>\n<li>be committed, flexible and reliable</li>\n<li>work well in a team with a consistent positive attitude </li>\n<li>work under the direction of the class teacher, whilst also showing initiative to tailor learning experiences to the needs of the child</li>\n<li>be passionate about working with children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities</li>\n<li>show empathy and communicate effectively with pupil, parents and staff.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>The ideal candidate would have:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in supporting pupils with SEND</li>\n<li>Good sense of humour</li>\n<li>Ability to create and maintain relationships</li>\n<li>Patience and resilience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>About the school - what you will get from us</strong></p>\n<p>Please visit our <a href=\"https://www.whybridge-jun.havering.sch.uk/\">school website</a> to get a good idea of what happens at our school………because there is always lots going on! </p>\n<p>We are a growing school (gradually expanding to 3 FE since Sept 2020, situated in the heart of South Hornchurch).
