Senior Building Fire Safety Officer

Full Time - 35 Hours per week

The Building Fire Safety Team are looking for a Senior Building Fire Safety Offer to help deliver their programme of fire safety improvement works and Building Safety Act 2022 compliance work to buildings across Poplar HARCA estates.

The principal role of the SBFSO will be to assist the Building Safety Manager and the Building Fire Safety Team generally with technical, supervisory and administrative support to ensure Poplar HARCA meets it statutory obligations under the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated new legislation. Specifically, the SBFSO will take responsibility for gathering technical building information required for the development of Building Safety Case Reports.

The SBFSO will be required to project manage the fire safety improvement measures arising from FRAEWs, FRA s and other building safety assessments. Close working with the fire engineers, specialist consultants and building contractors is required during the assessment stage, the specification periods and during the on-site works, to assist with the delivery of Poplar HARCA’s fire safety improvement works programme.

As the Senior Building Fire Safety Officer, you will be taking responsibility for co-ordinating and managing matters relating to structural and fire safety for in-scope buildings to meet legislative requirements. You will work closely with the Fire Risk Assessor and the Building Fire Safety Coordinator.

You will be required to provide direction and guidance to the Building Fire Safety Surveyor. The Assistant Building Fire Safety Officer will report to you.
