Secondment Opportunity
Deputy Headteacher
February 2025 until 31st August 2025
All Saints Catholic Primary School is looking for an experienced Deputy Headteacher or Acting Deputy Headteacher who can be seconded for the rest of the academic year as interim Deputy Headteacher. The Governors see this as an excellent opportunity to develop high-quality leadership and management skills alongside an experienced Headteacher.
All Saints is set in a state-of-the-art building, extremely well-resourced indoors and outdoors.
We are a designated Nature-Friendly school, with Forest School being well-established throughout.
Personal development, behaviour and welfare were judged to be outstanding at the last inspection.
The school employs its own Educational Psychologist, Counsellor and Speech Therapist to support and enhance classroom practice on a day-to-day basis.
Governors ensure the professional development of staff is a high priority and they make a similar commitment to the successful candidate.
Culturally rich, we are the most diverse primary school in Sefton and are proud to welcome children from all over the world.
As the first Sefton school to receive School of Sanctuary accreditation, we seek to create a "home from home" for every child in our school.
Expressions of interest are invited from leaders who:
- Are practising Catholics, with a clear understanding of the Deputy's role in supporting the headteacher and governors in realising their vision for the school.
- Have a proven, recent track record as a Deputy Headteacher in a primary school, experienced in driving improvements and building effective relationships with colleagues, children, parents and external partners.
- Have an excellent understanding of the EYFS and Primary National Curriculums and planning for a range of needs, including SEND and EAL.
- Are outstanding classroom practitioners, keen to share their expertise, to coach, mentor and challenge staff, in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for all of our children.
In return we can offer you:
- An opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and experience, working in a vibrant setting.
- A warm, nurturing, inclusive, Catholic community, working with children who are polite, appreciative, eager to learn and a joy to be with.
- An experienced and committed staff team and a very supportive and forward-thinking Governing Body.
Interested applicants must have ‘in principle’ agreement from their current Headteacher.
In the first instance, interested candidates should forward a written expression of interest to the Clerk to Governors, Mrs L A Walker - finance.allsaints@schools.sefton.gov.uk
This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) and will be subject to an enhanced DBS certificate with a children’s barred list check. You will also be required to complete a criminal self-disclosure form if you are short-listed for the post.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
