About the team
We are looking to recruit a cleaner for our home in Watford. This is an opportunity to work alongside a committed, friendly and creative team, where the home environment is an important aspect of care. We support children and teenagers who have different range of needs and challenges.
The cleaner works with a group of residential care staff, a handy person and office staff to ensure that the home is a clean, child friendly and homely place to live.
About the role
You will be completing a wide range of cleaning duties to a high standard in all areas of the home, in addition to overseeing Care Of Substance Hazardous Health (COSHH), ordering provisions, ensuring Health and safety in the home and ensuring daily and weekly cleaning schedule / equipment checks are completed on time and to acceptable standards.
You will contribute to maintaining a home where children can thrive and feel nurtured.
You will have direct contact with children, communicating and building relationships and trust with them. Engaging and supporting them to develop independent skills.

About you
Essential:
- Cleaning to an acceptable standard.
- Able to build relationships with team and young people.
- Independently plan your cleaning schedule and work in a timely manner.
- Understanding how to store products appropriately.
- Understanding what products we can and cannot use in the home.
- Understanding of RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations)
- Full UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Understanding Health and Safety Laws within the work environment.
- Have an understanding of COSHH (Care Of Substance Hazardous Health).
