The trainee role is career graded to enable progress to Planning Officer level. Applicants who wish to study to do an undergraduate or post-graduate planning degree will be provided with on-the-job training, and subject to any budgetary restrictions, be sponsored to undertake the appropriate University course or Apprenticeship scheme, including day release.</p>\n<p>We have also introduced an incentivised pay scheme which may provide opportunities to earn additional income through working on pre-application enquiries as overtime. This position also currently attracts a market supplement of £3,000 a year which is paid in 12 monthly instalments.
