Peabody is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to play a key role in financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation, and audit coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality financial records, managing external audit processes, and delivering insightful financial analysis. This role requires excellent problem-solving abilities, the capacity to manage competing deadlines, and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory accounts for Peabody's subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 and best practices.
- Provide accurate financial reports and analysis to senior stakeholders.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliation and monthly trial balance reviews.
- Manage audit working papers and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely year-end processes.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure strong financial controls and process improvements.
- Maintain financial systems data, including chart of accounts and regulatory reporting.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A full CCAB accounting qualification.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts, ideally in the housing or not-for-profit sector.
- Strong audit experience, either from an external auditor role or working closely with auditors.
- Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems (Sun Systems desirable).
- A keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and audit processes.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
- Confidence in communicating with senior stakeholders and external auditors, presenting complex financial information clearly.
