You will manage a team of SfYP Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Coordinators and a SfYP Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Senior Support Officer to ensure we deliver our statutory EHCP review duties for young people aged 16+ in further education, service delivery meets performance targets and resources are used efficiently and effectively.<br><br>You will also be expected to deliver casework that coordinates professionals across education, health, and care as well as the family, to deliver reviews to time and high quality, with a focus on 'Preparation for Adulthood' and improving outcomes for young people.<br><br><b>About the role</b><br><br><strong>Responsibilities will include:</strong><ul>\n<li>Managing a team of SfYP EHCP Coordinators and a SfYP EHCP Senior Support Officer</li>\n<li>Proactively monitoring a caseload of complex young people aged 16+ with an EHCP who are in further education</li>\n<li>Providing casework advice and support for those that you line manage</li>\n<li>Taking the lead for your team in decision making in relation to ceasing EHCPs; provision and resources, where appropriate</li>\n<li>Working collaboratively with young people, their families, and other professionals</li>\n<li>Arranging and attending multi-agency and other meetings for complex young people and supporting those that you line manage as required</li>\n<li>Challenging FE providers and advocating for young people when required</li>\n<li>Inputting and maintaining accurate and comprehensive database records as required and participating in the Local Authority's systems for monitoring and quality assurance for young people known to the service</li>\n<li>Contributing to the development of policy, procedures, and provision for young people with SEND, which includes maintaining up to date knowledge relating to SEN casework, changes to national legislation and departmental policies, and supporting induction/training and support to all team members</li>\n</ul><br><b>About you</b><br><br> <strong>Essential:</strong><ul>\n<li> Have a detailed knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and the Children and Families Act 2014 and experience of working in a statutory SEND Service as an Education, Health, and Care Coordinator or equivalent, preferably with knowledge of further education. </li>\n<li> Previous experience with casework management </li>\n<li> Be educated to Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum </li>\n<li> Excellent communication skills </li>\n<li> The ability to work to deadlines and under pressure </li>\n<li> High level of literacy to support good case recording and quality EHC plans. </li>\n<li> Hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work </li>\n</ul><strong>Desirable:</strong><ul><li> Line management experience would be beneficial </li></ul>We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation. About the team
