Enfield Council is committed to work in partnership with private rented sector landlords to improve and maintain high standards of accommodation and professional management and provide good quality housing. Enfield has a borough wide additional and large selective licensing schemes to help us to deal with private rented homes where safety standards are not being met and where properties are not being properly managed.<br>\nAre you an experienced Environmental Health Officer or housing standards practitioner looking for a new challenge? Enfield Council is seeking dedicated professionals to join our established Private Rented Housing team as Tier 2 Licensing Inspection and Enforcement Officers.<br>\nSuccessful candidates will be responsible for the inspection of licensed properties, investigating complaints, carrying out regulatory work and undertaking enforcement functions using the full range of enforcement powers to improve housing conditions across the private rented sector in the borough. As a Tier 2 Officer you will also provide assistance and guidance to Tier 1 Licensing Inspection Officers, lead on complex cases and specific projects.<br>\nIdeal candidates must:<br>\n• have a thorough and comprehensive understanding of private sector housing and property licensing work<br>\n• have proven experience of carrying out HMO and property inspections<br>\n• be experienced in assessing deficiencies using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System<br>\n• have proven experience in obtaining evidence and taking enforcement action under the Housing Act 2004 and associated legislation, including issuing civil penalty notices, prosecutions, rent repayment orders and banning orders.<br>\nWe are looking for driven individuals, with a proactive approach and excellent organisational skills.
