We are looking for a committed and experienced manager to lead our First Response (MASH) team, which reviews safeguarding concerns, assesses risk, and shares information when people report abuse or neglect of children.
About you
You will need to be adaptable, to work well under pressure both individually and as part of a team and to work to tight timescales. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to engage sensitively with professionals and senior leaders in schools.
Any successful internal candidate will be offered the position as a secondment and, in line with Section 8.1 of the Secondment Policy, must consult with their manager before applying.

Key responsibilities
- To be responsible for the management of the first point of contact (MASH) supporting the arrangements for children aged 0-18 who may require a statutory social work assessment or child protection response.
- To be responsible for all enquiries at first point of contact (including overseeing the Confidential MASH process) through to transfer to the right service at the right time.
- To ensure the effective delivery of the service through the management of staff and other resources.
