Brokerage Solutions Team is committed to sourcing services for people supported by Hertfordshire Health and Social Care colleagues. We are looking for a hardworking, resilient, passionate, and experienced person to apply for the post of Assistant Team Manager and join our dynamic team.
BST operationally receive brokerage task referrals from over 40 teams within Health and Social Care in Hertfordshire - Adults Disability and Older Peoples Services, 0-25 Together, Gateway, Specialist Mental Health teams for Older People and Hospital Teams. In addition, we work in partnership with Adult Mental Health, Sensory Teams, and Childrens Services.
As an Assistant Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting The BST Management Team in the daily operations of our social care brokerage service.
About the role
Team Support: Assisting the Team Manager in leading and motivating a team of social care brokers to achieve their goals and managing poor performance and ill health processes.
Actively Manage day to day Duty Tasks including Triage and Allocation of work where you will be responsible for prioritising brokerage resources.
Ensuring that those with Care Act Eligible needs receive high-quality care and support by engaging with various contracted service providers, in line with agreed contract call off processes and negotiating care costs.
Quality Assurance: Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the team to maintain high standards of service delivery. Addressing any issues or concerns that arise in a timely and effective manner.
Administrative Duties: Supervision Management of Staff, managing schedules, maintaining records, and handling correspondence related to client care.
Performance Management, Training and Development: Supporting the professional development of team members via the PMD Process
Holding a tray of more complex cases including complex finance and commissioning issues.
Responding to complaints and escalation requests from the operational services. Managing and resolving conflict.
Leading brokerage projects to develop particular service areas or processes.
Representing Brokerage in multi-agency meeting to resolve in urgent situations where people may be at risk without support.
Interpret complex data, resolving financial queries and commissioning errors on ACSIS.

About you
Essential:
- NVQ/QVC level 4 or above in either social care, management, commissioning, or relevant qualifications these fields would be desirable.
- Proven experience in a social care setting, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Evidenced knowledge of Learning disabilities and Autistic spectrum Disorder
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, social care professionals, Commissioners and social care providers offering challenge where appropriate.
- Excellent organizational I.T and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications and liquid logic systems (ACSIS)
- Experience of resolving disputes, managing poor performance and negotiation with providers or other teams or services.
- Ability to remain calm in a crisis, problem solve and work in partnership to resolve urgent and complex situations, where people may be at risk without support.
- This role is based across both major HCC sites for face to face meetings and induction training. Access toa vehicle is desirable but will require ability to travel across sites.
