About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead pivotal initiatives within the Personal Budgets and Client Finance Unit. This role is your chance to drive real change by managing a portfolio of key policy and service development projects, including a review of Southwark Council's charging policy for adults receiving social care services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating projects from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with ASC's strategic outcomes.
- Collaborating with internal departments and external partners to secure support for project goals.
- Monitoring progress, managing risks, and taking corrective actions to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Preparing and presenting detailed reports to stakeholders, senior officers, and governance boards.
This role is offered as a fixed-term contract (April 2024 - April 2025) with potential for extension. You'll report directly to the Service Manager and contribute to projects with a long-term impact on Southwark's diverse and vibrant community.
About You
We're seeking a driven individual with the expertise and passion to deliver impactful projects in the public sector. You will have:
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent and a relevant project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
- Proven experience managing complex projects involving diverse stakeholders and achieving results within time and budget constraints.
- A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in Adult Social Care, especially in a multicultural, urban environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build consensus and resolve conflicts effectively.
- A results-oriented mindset, with the flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing circumstances.
