We are looking for an experienced qualified youth worker to join our busy Youth Work Team in the London Borough of Havering.</p> <p><strong>Work will include:</strong></p> <ul>\n<li>Detached (Street Based) Youth Work</li> <li>Youth club centre-based sessions</li> <li>1:1 Targeted youth support</li> <li>Work within schools and other community settings</li> </ul> <p> </p><p>Detached youth work uses the principles and practice of informal education to engage young people in a constructive dialogue about their needs, interests, concerns and lifestyles to support them in their personal and social development.</p> <p>The role will require you to be present at and around key identified hot spots to deliver our detached provision with the aim of reducing youth violence and empower young people to help break the cycle of violence and harm, and to contribute to our commitment of reducing gang involvement and youth violence in the borough.</p> <p>During the summer/school holiday periods more flexibility will be needed in terms of activities and locations. However, the outcomes will remain the same with regards to approaching and engaging with individuals and groups of young people, in places and spaces they chose to be.
