The Supported Living and Extra Care Team Manager is responsible for the management and leadership of a team of commissioners that oversees and commissions care services in Brent. Working in collaboration with the Head of Service for Commissioning, Contracting and Market Management and other Commissioning Team Managers, the successful candidate will take the operational and strategic lead on all commissioning, contracting and market management activity for supported living and extra care services in Brent.
The post holder will contribute to the overall management of the Commissioning, Contracting and Market Management Service and the wider Strategic Commissioning and Capacity Building Department. Working in collaboration with key stakeholders including the Brent Adult Social Care Service will be essential.
The primary responsibility for the post is to lead the management of the local market for supported living and extra care services and ensure the services that are commissioned are safe, cost effective and of good quality.
Brent Council is looking for an experienced commissioning manager to lead our Supported Living and Extra Care Team. The council has a well-developed commissioning programme and is recruiting a new team manager to lead on work to ensure that our supported living and extra care services continue to deliver high quality care and support for the people of Brent.
Leading a team of 12, Brent is looking for someone with extensive commissioning experience, with a strong track record in strategic planning and end to end delivery of commissioning projects. The successful candidate will understand the social care sector, be able to work effectively with key stakeholders and manage a considerable programme of work, including responsibility for Brent's Supported Living Programme which currently supports over 400 people.
Experience in commissioning of social care services is essential, as is a proven track record in leading commissioning services to deliver high quality outcomes. The successful candidate will ensure the seamless delivery of the end-to-end commissioning cycle for supported living and extra care services, including overall responsibility and accountability for all phases of the analyse-plan-do-review commissioning cycle.
