Ranger 2 – Maintenance (Cemeteries)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Sefton Council to appoint a 36-hour permanent cemetery operative role for maintenance in our cemeteries team.

The role sits in the Burials and Cremations Service, within In House Operational Services based in Thornton Cemetery.

As part of the team in this role you will be responsible for site maintenance including but not limited to grass cutting litter picking, pruning, memorial maintenance, seasonal maintenance throughout the year etc.. and ensuring that all work is undertaken to the highest standards in line with Sefton Council policies and Job Description related to this role.. As a Ranger 2 you will be tasked with ensuring site safety is always monitored and any issues reported to be resolved immediately as well as assisting with burials when required by the service.

This role also includes a requirement for basic machinery maintenance.

The Cemetery undertakes circa 600 burials per annum and provides a high-quality service to the bereaved.

This is an exciting time to join the burials and cremations servcie at Sefton as the service is now on a journey to become more digitally friendly and provide a more modern funeral service to the people of Sefton and surrounding areas.
