We're looking for a talented Service Leader (maternity cover) to join our Health Improvement Team in the Healthy and Sustainable Communities Directorate at North Somerset Council for a fixed-term maternity cover role (approximately 10 months).<br><br>North Somerset Council oversees the delivery of public health nursing for children and young people aged 0-19 and a range of health improvement programmes and services relating to physical activity, food and nutrition, mental health, and children and young people.<br><br>Operating at a senior level within the Health Improvement team you will be responsible for developing and leading exciting workstreams, managing a team, ensuring service delivery, developing service plans, managing budgets, renewing ways of working, monitoring and maintaining standards, and contributing to service improvements and developments.<br><br>The successful applicant will provide management and leadership within the team and on cross cutting themes across the Healthy and Sustainable Communities Directorate. You will take a proactive approach to problem solving to resolve policy, resourcing and personnel issues. You will lead a team of service managers, to ensure the provision and continuous improvement of health improvement programmes and services that improve mental health and wellbeing, physical activity, food, nutrition and healthy weight, oral health, workplace health, and the health and wellbeing of children and young people, while addressing health inequalities. You will also contribute to strategic decisions around the utilisation and application of public health intelligence.<br><br>Working closely with a range of stakeholders and partners, you will develop and improve services, pathways and ways of working in relation to community-based programmes, services and civic-level actions.
