Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of families and children? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated Family Wellbeing Worker to join our Central Family Hub Team, providing essential support to families in the West Berkshire area.
The Role
As a Family Wellbeing Worker, you will be part of a dynamic team working to deliver the best start in life for children and to support families to achieve the changes they want to make. You will be responsible for:
- Delivering effective family support interventions, working directly with children, parents, and carers.
- Conducting assessments of individual and family needs, identifying areas of support and implementing appropriate support plans.
- Providing guidance, and practical assistance to families, empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
- Collaborating with other professionals and agencies to ensure holistic support is provided to families.
- Monitoring and evaluating progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
About you
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Experience working in a family support role, with a good understanding of the challenges faced by families.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks related to child welfare and family support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Strong assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to identify needs and implement appropriate support strategies.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritise tasks.
- Empathy, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach when working with families.
