Job introduction
This role forms part of a partnership project, A Garden Fit for A King, led by Brighton & Hove City Council and Brighton & Hove Museums and funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Brighton & Hove City Council. The project will develop and improve the Royal Pavilion Garden, restoring it to its Regency glory and creating a safer environment for all to enjoy.
Fixed term for: 24 months
This role is available as a secondment to internal applicants in line with our secondment policy.

About the role
Are you passionate about delivering change? We are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to this exciting new role. You will play an integral role in a wider programme of work to restore and develop the Royal Pavilion Garden. With multi-million pound investment from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Brighton & Hove City Council, this is a pivotal opportunity to develop a programme of work that will protect the financial investment in this heritage garden and create a safer environment for all to enjoy. This unique and vibrant city centre green space experiences issues relating to antisocial behaviour and the night time economy, which can impact on this world renowned heritage asset. You will affect change through working with city partners and stakeholders to develop creative and innovative approaches to mitigating and reducing the impact of antisocial behaviour.
- Work as part of the Royal Pavilion Garden project team to collectively restore and improve access to this world renowned heritage garden, removing the garden from the Heritage At Risk Register.
- Engage with local communities and businesses to understand issues relating to antisocial behaviour and the night-time economy and the impact this can have on the heritage garden.
- Work with partners and stakeholders to develop and design creative and innovative solutions to ASB and reduce the impact on the garden and improve feelings of public safety.
- Develop a strategic action plan to address and reduce the impact of ASB and night-time economy on the garden aligned with the project funding terms and conditions.
The successful candidate you will have:
- Experience of successfully developing similar programmes of work with high impact outcomes
- Motivation to improve the safety of a unique heritage asset and reduce the impact of ASB on a vibrant city centre green space
- Worked and collaborated with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders in an inclusive manner to achieve a shared set of objectives

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
