Capital, Regeneration and Risk Management Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified CCAB accountant to work within our Financial Strategy Team. As part of this high profile team you will be involved in key projects that make a real difference to the residents of Merton. Ideally you will have some Regeneration/Housing/HRA finance experience, the ability to act on your own initiative or work effectively as part of a team, be able to work under pressure and have good communications skills.

The small team is responsible for:

• Development of the Medium-Term Financial Strategy, Capital Strategy and the Treasury Management Strategy Statement
• Co-ordination, management and accounting for corporate funds
• Compilation, governance and funding of the Authority’s capital programme
• Responsible for financial asset management accounting (including leasing)
• provide financial analysis and support for major schemes/projects
• maintenance and development of financial systems
• lead on risk management within the Authority
• liaison with budget and service managers
