Do you want to join an award-winning team, delivering at pace?<br><br>We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic and committed person to appoint as Principal Transport Officer (Development) to contribute to delivering this ambitious programme. To direct and shape the development control process, in enabling the boroughs strategic growth sites, in assessing development proposals and emerging masterplans in promoting the delivery of transport strategies and policies.<br><br>Ensuring wider active travel and public transport policy objectives are delivered efficiently and effectively and reflect the wider policy goals such as the Climate Emergency Response Plan and the objectives of the Liverpool City Regions Combined Authorities, Local Transport Plan; and ensure the actions necessary to deliver the Programmes are promoted across the organisation and with partner organisations, contributing to place quality through infrastructure.<br><br>Based within the Growth Delivering Prosperity (GDP) Team supporting the wider Council’s Regeneration, Growth and Infrastructure Programme. This innovative, multidisciplinary team comprises of Infrastructure Programme Delivery, Transport Strategy and Policy, Development Control, Water and Flood Management and Town Centre Regeneration.<br><br>The successful candidate will join the Council at an exciting time, making a meaningful contribution to the borough’s transport provision, delivery plans and policies and embedding the Climate Change declaration through Decarbonising Transport, Bus Service Improvement Plan, Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Strategy, and Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan in the Local Transport Plan process. Supporting the delivery of smarter choices, active and sustainable travel initiatives aligned to the Council’s health and wellbeing programmes.<br><br>The successful candidate will be experienced in delivering measurable outcomes within this key council priority area. They will be able to evidence an excellent knowledge of the policy and legislative framework of the service, have the skills and attributes to develop the service and manage performance, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to partnership working and collaboration for a common goal.<br><br>The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience of working in a transport or sustainability related environment. Understanding the critical role of transport in underpinning accessibility, sustainability, health and wellbeing, climate change and air quality for our residents a, businesses and visitors.
