Working within the Economic Growth & Strategic Regeneration Service, you will help to create better work and jobs, support residents into stable employment, and increase the social and environmental impact of local investment, in line with the Council's 2040 Vision.<br> <br>You will be responsible for the full programme cycle, from identifying needs and engaging stakeholders to translating these requirements into well-defined projects that deliver tangible results. A core part of your role will be to champion community wealth building, working closely with Luton's key anchor institutions and council colleagues, including from Planning and Procurement, to maximise the benefits of local investment for Luton's people and businesses. Additionally, you will oversee events and workshops that raise awareness of opportunities and build the capacity for local businesses to bid. Furthermore, the role will also include commissioning and contract managing business support programmes, and devising the marketing strategies that support these, that help local businesses to capitalise on local opportunities so that Luton's economic growth is sustainable, inclusive, and aligned with regional and national priorities.<br> <br><strong>Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.</strong><br><strong>About you</strong><br>You will have extensive experience in successfully managing complex programmes and projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, businesses, and the local community will be essential in influencing and embedding new approaches to economic growth.<br> <br>You will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting data, identifying key trends, and developing innovative solutions to drive positive change. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential, as you will be expected to prepare and present reports and briefings to senior leaders, elected members, and other key stakeholders.<br> <br>You will be highly organised, results-focused, and able to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities. A strong understanding of procurement, social value, economic development, regeneration and skills will be key to your success in this role.
