Teaching Assistant Grade 5 - Resource Provision

The Headteacher and Governors at Darnhall Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced and well qualified teaching assistant to join our team working in our special needs class. Our wonderful school has grown rapidly over the last few years – doubling in size to over 400 gorgeous children!  For us it is about finding the right person to join Team D. We are very interested to hear about your interests, strengths and talents as well as your experience working as a teaching assistant.

The successful candidate will have a secure knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework as well as the National Curriculum. They will have an in-depth knowledge of special educational needs.

The right candidate will need:

• Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• To enjoy working with other people.
• To be flexible and open to change.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of teaching and learning across phases.
• The ability to understand people’s reactions.
• Active listening skills.

The position is advertised as permanent.
