About the role / service

The Highways team are a supportive professional team. This role involves implementing highway schemes and programmes of work relating to bridges and highway structures.  You will be reporting to the Principal Engineer- Highway structures.

About you

You will have degree or equivalent experience in a civil engineering or transport related discipline, along with a detailed and up to date knowledge of appropriate legislation and highway design standards. You will be working with developers to achieve high standards of development and protect the Council’s interests.

Your Contributions:

You will be undertaking surveys and investigations on the Council’s bridges and highways, carrying out safety audits.

You will also be carrying out feasibility studies, preparing estimates and project plans and then managing the works completion by Contractors

You will be analysing structure designs submitted to HBC from other third parties, providing advice and analysis/support
