Are you an experienced Network Support Analyst looking for a new challenge within a dynamic and forward-thinking ICT Service? West Berkshire Council is seeking a Senior Network Support Analyst to join our Infrastructure Team, reporting to the Network Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the support and maintenance of our network infrastructure while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role
As a Senior Network Support Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our network services. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert support and troubleshooting for network issues, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi technologies.
- Maintaining and configuring network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Monitoring network performance and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborating with other ICT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services with other technologies.
- Assisting with the planning and implementation of network upgrades and expansions.
- Providing technical guidance and support to end users.
In addition to the above responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of our ICT services.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Extensive experience in network support and administration, with a strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols.
- Proficient in configuring and managing network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Solid troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex local and wide area network issues.
- Experience with network monitoring and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects.
