Our Business Support Service is looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organised individuals who can ensure that a high level of administrative support is provided to our departments.
Our Business Support Service is a centralised unit which has been formed to deliver a co-ordinated, consistent, and high-quality service supporting service delivery across the organisation. Business Support is critical to ensuring our departments can support services to our residents, and if you have great administrative skills and a strong customer focus, you could be part of it.
You'll be working as part of the central Business Support Service with more than 400 colleagues, and you'll be supporting our departments to ensure they are able to deliver critical services to the residents of Hertfordshire.

Community Protection, Business Support Service to Public Health - 2 x Full time 37 hrs and based at Farnham House
This role provides professional support to Business Support Senior Officers, Managers and to the wider Public Health team, dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. The successful candidate will undertake a range of administrative duties such as meeting support, creating agendas, note and minute taking, answering telephone calls, and providing information as a first point of contact. You will be expected to manage team commitments avoiding scheduling conflicts and deal with all general matters including correspondence, invoices, and timesheets according to local procedures.

Community Protection, Business Support Service to HFRS - 1 x 15 and 1 x 17.5 hours based at Farnham House
This role supports Herts Fire and Rescue Service by performing various administrative tasks. As part of the HCC business support service, you'll work closely with the fire service team in Stevenage and North Herts. Key responsibilities include processing payroll, managing uniforms and PPE, handling calls, supporting station budgets, and serving as the first point of contact. You'll also manage team schedules and handle general administrative tasks like correspondence, invoices, and timesheets.

West SEND Front Door 2 x Full Time 37 hrs, Hemel Hempstead
A Business Support Officer working in the SEND Implementation Support and Statutory Assessment Team will monitor "front line" communication points for the service. They will be able to answer initial queries immediately and will direct others to the correct part of the organisation for effective response and resolution. The role is integral in managing and supporting the initial contact with families and professional partners including schools to ensure they feel supported and listened to from first point of contact.

A Support Officer in the School Age Statutory SEND Service will support the EHC Annual Reviews process by maintaining and updating records related to EHCPs and annual reviews. They will receive and log paperwork from partner agencies, including schools, and update system records for children with EHCPs. The role involves assisting team members with queries, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and guidelines. As the first point of contact for parents, schools, and external agencies, they will handle inquiries, provide information, and direct others to the appropriate part of the organization

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Integrated Passenger Transport Unit (IPTU). The IPTU delivers contracted transport services for home to school transport and Adult Care Services ensuring passengers have access to a high quality, efficient journey. You will be responsible for providing admin. related tasks to support the contracts transport planners who manage transport contracts for Special Educational Needs and Mainstream Home to School, Short Stay provision and Adult Care Services day services. This is a fast-paced environment, where you will need to be reactive as well as proactive. You will need to possess excellent communication skills to deal with a wide range of stakeholders, writing and oral skills as well as dealing effectively under pressure and working to deadlines.

Essential:
- Proven experience in an administrative or support role
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a range of audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
- Experience in working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to plan own work over short timescales for routine or familiar tasks and processes and use your initiative to work independently.
- GCSE or Vocational equivalent, strong numeracy, and literacy skills.
- Enthusiasm and pride in your work are qualities we welcome.
- Experience in minute or note taking
