Camden’s Children’s Centres and Family Hubs provide a universal ‘front door’ for families to access joined-up support services from conception, throughout a child’s early years, and up to the age of 19 or 25 for young people with special educational needs or disabilities.</p>\n<span></span>\n</div>\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"heading\">Duties</h2>\n<div>\n<p><strong>About the role</strong></p>\n<p>To learn how to provide professional, customer focussed business support to the team, thus ensuring delivery of a well-coordinated pathway of universal and targeted children’s centre services across the borough. In addition, working toward achieving the level 3 Business administration apprenticeship standard.</p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the role:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>To assist the Children’s Centre Business Manager to provide a high-quality business support service ensuring smooth day to day functioning of children’s centres and locality services.</li>\n<li>To learn how to assist with providing a welcoming and effective reception and engagement services for families attending the Children’s Centres and programmes.</li>\n<li>To learn how to deliver effective business support so the team can engage and support those most at risk of poor outcomes, maximising the positive impact of services on child and family outcomes.</li>\n</ul>\n</div>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p>\n<p>Office based at one of the Camden’s children’s centres or locality venues. Key contacts are likely to include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visitors to the centre(s) e.g., families with children attending nursery, activities, and appointments.</li>\n<li>Local residents, voluntary and statutory organisations and other external agencies.</li>\n<li>Locality Admin, cleaning and maintenance teams.</li>\n<li>Locality multi-agency team e.g., Family Support, Health and Nursery.</li>\n<li>Council departments e.g., Finance, IT and Facilities.</li>\n<li>Partners providing services and resources both within the children centre(s) and other locality venues.</li>\n<li>Internal and external contractors and suppliers.</li>\n</ul>\n<span></span>\n</div>\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"heading\">Essential criteria</h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the children’s centre and early help services offered by Camden Council to families who experience most disadvantage as well as other local services for families with children.</li>\n<li>Some experience of working in a busy reception area, offering a friendly welcoming service that is sensitive to the need(s) of vulnerable customers, signposting services and resolving customer queries face to face, over the telephone and via email.</li>\n<li>Able to communicate with confidence, providing an excellent level of customer service to all customers (colleagues, members of the public, contractors, and suppliers), meeting customer needs, maintaining good client relations and demonstrating an ability to help with enquiries. </li>\n<li>Some experience in providing a range of administrative support, working flexibly, balancing competing priorities and, meeting deadlines whilst understanding the needs, timescales, and deadlines of others.</li>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Word and, Excel and able to undertake data entry using a range of client databases and electronic systems, ensuring that monitoring and evaluation systems are maintained.</li>\n<li>After training, able to effectively undertake a range of office financial processes including placing, receiving and, receipting orders, checking payments have been made, invoicing and processing of payments, and updating office finance monitoring systems.</li>\n<li>Have a proactive approach to ensuring a safe centre and workplace.
