Are you passionate about recycling initiatives and promoting sustainable practices - if so you may be the perfect candidate for this role.
To further increase our recycling rate and prepare for household food waste collections in 2026, we are recruiting to a new Recycling Engagement Team – as the Team Leader you will be required to supervise and motivate a team of officers responsible for developing recycling initiatives and campaigns that raise awareness about waste minimisation and the circular economy to encourage participation. You will be required to talk to and motivate householders about recycling, provide service information, challenge poor behaviours and help residents prepare for the new food waste collections.
As well as speaking with householders, you will be required to organise and support events and activities with local community groups and schools that raise awareness, educate and promote the service. You will help to tackle low level take-up or non-compliance, particularly in relation to waste collected from communal housing.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and motivate householders to recycle are crucial for this role. Experience of similar work is desirable.
