This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Council Tax team.
We pay an attractive salary of £49,764 - £52,805 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The Council Tax and National Non-Domestic Rate (NNDR) Manager is a key role responsible for the efficient and effective billing, collection and recovery of council tax and business rates of circa £135m, ensuring that income collected is maximised.
The postholder will strive to achieve improvements in all of the operations of the service, continually monitoring all relevant budgets. You will analyse relevant legislation to ensure appropriate policies are developed, updated, and adapted to ensure compliance with changing legislative requirements.
The successful candidate will have expert knowledge of Council Tax and NNDR legislation and policies and will manage the team to deliver a customer-focused service, developing service improvements and maximising technology to ensure the service is efficient and effective.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A Level 6 (Degree) qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework to Wales, or a professional qualification, for example Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV)
- Significant experience as a manager within a large organisation
- Experience of applying risk management in setting strategy for the service in identifying and managing principal risks to achievement of objective
- A wide awareness of the role of Local Government and working within the political arena
