Danecourt Is Hiring: A Social Work Role That’s As Unique As the Children You’ll Support
Support Children Daily, Not Caseloads – School-Based Social Work at Danecourt
Are you a passionate, dedicated Social Worker looking for a role that will truly make a difference? At Danecourt School, we offer a unique opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join our team and help support children with special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing, inclusive, and dynamic environment.
About the Role:
As a School-Based Social Worker at Danecourt, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils, their families, and the wider school community. You will have the chance to make a meaningful impact every single day by:
● Supporting Pupils: Work directly with children to provide emotional support, guidance, and strategies that help them overcome challenges and succeed.
● Collaborating with School Staff: Partner with teachers, teaching assistants, and other staff to implement individualized approaches that promote pupil’s well-being, academic progress, and social development.
● Engaging with Families: Build strong, trusting relationships with families, offering advice, advocacy, and practical support to ensure they can effectively support their children’s needs.
● Building Partnerships: Work with external agencies, healthcare professionals, and social services to ensure holistic and wraparound support for our pupils.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking an empathetic, proactive, and skilled Social Worker who is:
● Qualified and Registered: You hold a relevant social work qualification and are registered with Social Work England.
● Experienced in SEN: You have extensive experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, and a deep understanding of the complexities of supporting this community.
● A Strong Communicator: You excel at building positive, effective relationships with children, families, staff, and external partners.
● Proactive and Compassionate: You are driven by the desire to create positive change in the lives of pupils and their families, and you thrive in a dynamic, solution-focused environment.
Why Danecourt?
At Danecourt, no two days are ever the same, but the rewards are truly worth it. You’ll experience the unique joy of seeing children overcome challenges and achieve what they never thought possible. Here’s why our team loves working with us:
● Meaningful Impact: Unlike a traditional social work setting, being part of the Danecourt team means directly contributing to the well-being and development of children within a school environment. You’ll have the chance to see the immediate positive effects of your support on pupils’ day-to-day lives and educational outcomes.
● Collaborative, Supportive Environment: You will be working alongside a team of dedicated and compassionate staff who value collaboration. The close-knit environment at Danecourt fosters a culture of mutual support where everyone works together to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils.
● A Forward-Thinking, Inclusive School: Danecourt School has a well-earned reputation for being an award-winning special school where each child’s unique needs are celebrated. As part of the Maritime Multi-Academy Trust, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking network of schools that prioritizes innovation, inclusion, and collaboration in every aspect of education.
● Opportunities for Professional Growth: Danecourt is committed to the continuous professional development of its staff. In addition to regular training and development opportunities, you’ll have the chance to grow your career in ways that are unique to working within a school setting. This role offers potential for career progression and involvement in exciting new initiatives.
● Work-Life Balance: With the option of the role being term-time based (or year-round depending on the candidate), you’ll benefit from the same school holiday schedule, giving you more time to focus on your well-being and enjoy a healthy work-life balance.
● Excellent Benefits: We offer competitive terms and conditions, including membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, access to wellbeing initiatives, and financial support programs like Wagestream, allowing you to manage your pay and expenses flexibly.
● A Truly Special School: At Danecourt, every day is a chance to make a difference. Our school’s immersive learning environment and our commitment to delivering personalized education means that you will be part of something truly special. From unique therapies to innovative learning spaces, you’ll be helping to shape an environment where children with SEND are empowered to succeed.
